As I mentioned last week, I’ve been trying to use up left overs and partials from past kits. But this week, none of what I have really went with the February color scheme, so I decided to try something else.
I have a Me and My Big Ideas Happy Planner, so I thought, “Why not use Me and My Big Ideas stickers?” So that’s what I did.
Now, I consider myself to be a novice when it comes to planner decorating, but I’m pretty fond of how this one came out, I’m not gonna lie.
(No pocket planner this week. I’m sick and didn’t feel like decorating it. Sorry!)
These are the MAMBI books I used for this spread:
Yes, just two of them. I have almost every book of MAMBI planner stickers and I almost never use them! I have some books that have never been used at all and some that only have one or two stickers missing. I’m considering selling them (or maybe having a giveaway when I reach enough followers on Instagram?) just because I need to make some more space. There are just so many stickers that I’m not using, it’s ridiculous.
Anyway, armed with my sticker books (and really, I mostly just used the top one), I created the following layout.
I used no washi, no stamps, nothing but those two sticker books. I may have mentioned before, but I am definitely not a “no white space” planner! I tried it, but it’s too cluttered for me–clutter triggers my anxiety. I much prefer a minimalistic approach.
I’m trying to keep with the monthly color schemes in my planner. It’s cleaner and nicer looking this way. For February, it’s pink and a sort of aqua green, which is one of my favorite color combos, so this month is admittedly pretty easy for me.
The top row has all of my To Do checklist stickers for the week. This is where I’ll write my assignments, chores, errands that need to be run, etc.
I decided to do decoration and any little additional notes in the middle row to kind of break up that list vibe. I’m a compulsive list maker, but even I think just a long, nearly unbroken column of words looks off-putting.
The two decorative stickers on Monday and Wednesday are from the second sticker book–5 pages of glossy, inspirational stickers. I love how well Wednesday matches the layout!
I tend to do more/need more reminders towards the end of the week, so there isn’t much decoration happening on the right side. I have more note stickers here to indicate important things I’ll fill in (like pay day and bills due).
The bottom row is for my tracking or dailies. They aren’t necessarily “to-dos,” so I don’t want to put them with my regular to-do lists. I also didn’t want to do more long list stickers for only a few things.
Solution: Dot stickers! I never know quite what to do with those dot stickers because they’re not very eye-catching for noting important things. I’ve seen people decorate with them, making cute designs by placing a bunch of them in a pattern or cluster, but otherwise I’m pretty lost. Then I realized I could use them to make little check lists!
I put them down semi-randomly and when I complete that daily I’ll put a check on the dot! Simple, cute, and useful!
The heart stickers are for tracking my blood pressure/BPM. Hypertension is no joke, guys! Walk more and eat less salty food!
See you next week!
I love you all,
