This is the last week in the March section of my planner and therefore the last chance I’ll have to do a perfect rainbow spread for a while (the color scheme for April doesn’t lend itself well to rainbows). Once again, I’ve only used MAMBI stickers for this spread. Once again, I really like how it turned out (because rainbows).
Let’s get to it!
So, the first thing I want to mention is that I changed the cover for my planner. You probably can’t tell because of the way I do my pictures, but I used to have it in the black deluxe cover. I found that to be, unfortunately, much too bulky for my purposes. It no longer fit into my bag very well. It also doesn’t prop up very well for my new photography setup.
So, I bought the hard snap-in cover (the black quilted) and I love it already! It feels pretty durable while still being functional. It will (just) fit in my bag, so I can bring my planner with me again! Yay!
Having a planner I can’t take with me has proven to be… well… completely useless.
Unlike previous rainbow spreads I’ve done this month, where the colors were spread out through out the week in a jumble, I wanted each day to have its own color. MAMBI has a sticker for every occasion in every color, so this proved to be much easier than I thought it would be.
Again, everything came out of the same MAMBI sticker book (link finally included) I’ve been challenging myself to use up and have barely made a dent in.
I mean, I’ve been challenging myself to use up all of my stickers, mostly because I have so many and they take up so much room. I have a lot of stamps that I was planning on using once I was out of stickers, because stickers are also expensive and I’ve kind of wanted to wean myself away from stickers in general. I am on a tight budget these days, after all.
But, seeing how well these layouts have been coming out, I almost want to buy a hundred copies of this sticker book and never use anything else for the rest of my life.
So, I guess we’ll see on the sticker front.
Functionally, this is pretty standard. I find myself needing less and less space. A simple to-do list is fine for what I need to accomplish. The rest is just decoration.
As I’ve said before, I’m not a no white space planner. I like to have a little extra room to add things which might come up, as is known to happen. But, for the most part, I stick to the checklists and little else as far as functional stickers go.
Honestly, I could probably get away with not using the classic Happy Planner anymore and just sticking to my Franklin Covery pocket planner and a checklist stamp. But, there’s something calming and cathartic about decorating my Happy Planner. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to really give it up, even if I do stop using it for practical applications.
On the note of planner practicality, when I picked up the snap-in cover for my planner, I also picked up a Happy Planner mini fitness planner. I’ve been wanting to gain strength and add muscle mass (I could not care less about losing weight, but I want to be able to throw a punch–priorities). Pup has been trying to keep me in check about it, but I only see him once a week. I figure the mini fitness planner will help me keep accountable when he’s not here.
Maybe I’ll start posting my weekly spreads in that, if I think they’re worth sharing. It might be fun to show off my progress.
I love you all.
