First, I’d like to apologize for not posting a Plan with Me on Monday. I decorated my planner (and you can see it on my Instagram @cupcakewitchery), but I haven’t been feeling great lately, so I didn’t feel up to taking many pictures. I haven’t even really used my planner this week.
Now. Today (Friday), I was let go from my job. I don’t want to get into details, but I did leave on good terms. I enjoyed my almost four years with the company, my supervisor was fantastic, and I wish them all the best in the future. I’m grateful for the experience my time there has given me and the awesome people I met.
Of course, I’m disappointed. No one wants to lose their job, especially when it’s a job they like. But, these things happen sometimes. I’m trying to look on the bright side.
Between the three hour commute and the time spent waiting for my ride to pick me up after work, on days I worked a full shift I was out of the house for about thirteen hours. That’s a long time, especially when five of those hours were commute time and I couldn’t really get anything accomplished (and anyone who says “Do your homework on the bus!” has never tried to study on a crowded, noisy, bumpy bus/trolley).
Nixing that commute is going to give me more time to work on homework and get more sleep. It will give me more time to get my life organized and less hectic, so I’ll feel less stressed.
I’m also hoping to devote more time to this space and my creative works. My original writing and photography has kind of fallen by the wayside in favor of homework because I’ve had less free time. This is an opportunity to fix that.
(And, of course, I will be looking for a new job a little closer to home.)
I will keep you all updated as things progress.
I love you all.
